Which piece should I start with?
For tea for two or more, the Round Teapot and a pair of Tea Cups. For tea for one at a desk, the Brewing Mug. The Pour Jug is the extra: milk, water, or tea poured off the leaves.
Do I need an infuser with the teapot?
No. The strainer is built into the wall behind the spout, so loose leaves go straight into the pot. Very fine tea, such as rooibos or broken leaf, will get through and leave a little sediment in the cup.
How much tea does the teapot make?
About 500 ml with the lid on, which is three full Tea Cups or four at two-thirds full. It holds 600 ml to the brim.
How does the Brewing Mug work?
Put the leaves in the stoneware basket, pour, put the lid on, and lift the basket out when the tea is as strong as you like. Turn the lid over and rest the wet basket in it. With the basket in, the mug holds about 280 ml.
Are they dishwasher and microwave safe?
Yes: top rack of the dishwasher, and the microwave. They are not for the stovetop, the oven or the freezer. Details are on the Care & Materials page.
Will two pieces in the same glaze look identical?
Close, not identical. Each piece is dipped by hand, so the glaze line at the foot differs, and the speckles in Ash and the rust edges on Iron fall differently every time. If you want a matched set, order the pieces together so they come from the same batch.
Is the crackle in Celadon a crack?
No. Celadon has fine crackle lines in the glaze surface, which are expected. Over months of tea they can darken a little.
What is the glaze made of?
All three glazes are lead-free. The bare foot is unglazed stoneware and darkens slightly when wet.
What if something arrives chipped or broken?
Email photographs of the piece and the box to info@cindrava.com within 7 days of delivery and we will replace it or refund you. See the Refund policy.
How long does delivery take?
We dispatch from Hong Kong within 2 to 4 business days. Delivery then usually takes 7 to 12 business days to the United States and 10 to 20 elsewhere. Details are in the Shipping policy.
What does shipping cost?
$10 per order to the United States, free on US orders of $90 or more, and $22 per order everywhere else. Every order is tracked.
Will I pay import duties?
Possibly. Duties and taxes depend on the rules of the country the parcel enters, including the United States. They are not included in our prices and, if charged, are collected by the carrier.
Can I return something I do not want?
Yes, within 30 days of delivery if it is unused and in its original packaging. Email us first; the Refund policy has the details.
Can I cancel an order?
Email us as soon as you can. If it has not been dispatched, we cancel it and refund in full. Once it has left, the returns terms apply instead.
